What is the conflict...

I think the conflict was man vs society. At this time of which the pots man was in work was scares.
He would even allow a vulnerable man fall at his feet to get work.
I think there was also man vs nature. The man did not really care about the flowers at the end or he would have thrown them out.
Also i think there is man vs self. At the end of the story Elisa was struggling with herself to keep strong but she had been broken.
